Health Canada won't be recommending any flavor ban

anytime soon.  Health Canada already has a rigorous compliance and enforcement program in place to monitor vaping and eLiquid manufacturers, importers and sellers compliance.

"Flavors help make vaping liquids palatable to adult smokers seeking a less harmful alternative to tobacco," Health Canada spokesperson Maryse Durette said, continuing; "Therefore, the use of flavors in vaping liquids is not prohibited under the TVPA" Which is the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act, a Canadian proposal that went into effect in May of 2018.

Restrictions on flavors would hinder the point of approving vaping products in Canada in the first place, which is to reduce cigarette and cigar smoking.  Which seems to indicate our neighbors to the north have a more accurate attitude about vaping than what we're struggling with here in the states.

Is it possible that there has already been a dramatic increase in youth vaping and consumption of eLiquid products that just hasn't been detected by Health Canada's numbers?

"Health Canada has a robust surveillance system in place, which will continue to closely monitor youth vaping in Canada as new products become available," Durette replied when asked exactly that.
