Northland in the hand sanitizer business? Not quite!

However we did have the opportunity to help out one of our fine local producers of gin, vodka, and rum; Proof Artisan Distillers! Proof has temporarily gotten into the hand sanitizer producing game.

Joel Kath, who founded Proof in 2014, says he has been given federal approval to manufacture bottled hand sanitizer.  Kath was recently on KFGO's “Afternoons Live” with Tyler Axness said the production of hand sanitizer will lower the amount of vodka that his company makes, but he plans to put a part of the profits to be set aside to help the local service industry, which have seen a significant drop in business resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Kath is also optimistic that some of the hand sanitizer may end up going to hospitals or businesses that have run into difficulty finding conventional hand sanitizer due to COVID-19. 

So what does any of that have to do with Northland? Well it turns out in a pinch an eLiquid bottle is also pretty dang useful for hand sanitizer.  Plus we happened to have a bunch of them on hand, and seeing as proof is also local it was a match meant to be! 

Over the past few days we have supplied Proof with bottles and labels for their sanitizer and the first batches are starting to roll out to their intended recipients today!
