Otter Tail County will soon raise the age for purchasing vaping products

from devices, to eLiquids, and everything in between that's vape related takes effect on the first of January, 2019.  The reasoning for this is explained by Wayne Johnson, the Chair of the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners; "Most 16–year–olds don’t know a lot of 21–year–olds, but most 16–year–olds know a lot of 18–year–olds. Underage smoking and tobacco use is illegal. We just felt that if we moved that bar up to 21, the availability to our youth is far less.”   

Regardless of how well that has ever worked out for say, underage liquor and alcohol consumption, the real story here isn't the bump up in age but the hilarious mistake they made when getting the wording down for the signage.  The signs explicitly state you have to be under 18 to buy these products, no joke, check it out:

Of course this is a simple mistake, but it's a pretty funny one at that. Otter Tail county seems to own up to it in a tweet they made yesterday acknowledging this and stating new signs are being printed.
