Why hasn't the FDA banned flavor + sugars in the battle against the obesity epidemic

considering how much more dangerous sugar is than vape flavors, it's curious move that the FDA is playing against the vaping world.  Releasing another benign policy guideline yesterday, the FDA is continuing to double down on their attack on flavored eLiquids and anything else tobacco related that doesn't taste like mint or tobacco.   What a strange world to live in where an established taste can be considered okay, and everything else is literally bannable.

What the FDA is really saying is "Just keep smoking, because we'll lower the nicotine in your smokes and kids are vaping so we gotta stop that" and pretty much deciding where the science is settled. It's almost like big tobacco is still pulling the strings on this federal agency by just tugging the purse strings of whoever happens to occupy an office there.

From the press release; "We’re proposing to prioritize enforcement of flavored ENDS products (other than tobacco-, mint-, and menthol-flavored) that are offered for sale in ways that pose a greater risk for minors to access the products." which anyone can easily conclude is bonkers.  Of course nobody wants the sale of adult products to minors, but that's solved through thorough identification checks and not restriction of product selection.

It's always funny to see the reaction of regulation agencies to the culture's free market purchasing decisions, so maybe we're going about all this vape regulation nonsense all wrong.  Instead of blaming the FDA for acting stupidly, which in it's inherent nature it is always going to do anyways, we'll just promote ridiculous consumer choices in the culture.  I can see the headlines now; " Why are your kids so fat? 4,000 calorie mint sugar bomb candy causing youth obesity epidemic increase are to blame!"
