Vape newbie? Here's three helpful tips that might not be obvious.

Tip number 1 - It never hurts to shake your juice before you fill your tank or wick your coils.  I've written before about steeping, which also doesn't hurt to do, but from Northland your eLiquids always come pre-steeped so there's no worry about that.  Giving your bottle a quick shake mixes up the PG/VG and the nicotine keeps up the great quality of the vape.

Tip number 2 - Don't leave your eLiquid laying around just anywhere.  You want to keep it in a dry cool place, preferably out of direct sunlight.  Sunlight basically destroys nicotine, while doing not much really else to the rest of the mixture as far as PG/VG is concerned, but as nicotine breaks down it also weakens flavorings.

Tip number 3 - Not all tanks are of the same durability, and in fact, a lot of them come right out the box are cheap plastic trash.  This doesn't really mean much depending on what you're vaping, but if you like menthol or heavy cinnamon eLiquids, there's a chance your tank is going to crack sooner rather than later. This isn't the end of the world though, because 99% of devices have replacement tanks that are made from glass.  You can avoid this headache by buying a setup with a glass tank in the first place.

Bonus Tip  - Take off your tank when not in use, most importantly when you go to sleep.  Sounds weird, right? That thing isn't going anywhere, why bother?  Well the reality is that over time your tank is probably going to leak.  O-rings wear out, maybe you replaced your broken tank recently and didn't tighten it as good as you thought you did, or maybe your eLiquid is a sneaky Pete and just wants to escape.  Removing your tank will keep those leaks away from your expensive device, preventing any kind of damage to it.

That's it for today. Have a handy new-vaper tip? Share it in the comments!
